In his latest instalment, Chris brings LaFerrari, the McLaren P1 and the Porsche 918 Spyder – which also starred in Hyper 5 recently – to Portimao for an incredibly in-depth group test. No, we mean PROPERLY in-depth. To keep each manufacturer happy, each is represented not only by the cars themselves but also a team of engineers to ensure everything down to the dashboard clock runs smoothly. Each manufacturer had to agree which venue would be the fairest assessment of performance. Even Pirelli were brought on-board to make sure tyre degradation was consistent for each combatant.
So, nearly a full hour of in-depth analysis, circuit hot laps and quite a lot of burnt tyres. Oh, and if those celebrity guests look familiar, it’s because they’re Tiff Needell and Marino Franchitti.
