AC SCHNITZER'S BMW M3 G80/G81 UPGRADES ARE JUST RIGHT - AS EXPECTED.

In the M Performance range, the M3 is the benchmark car, and with the latest G80 shape that recently saw the addition of the G81 - or M3 Touring for those that don’t follow BMW’s codes - things are in motion for it to become one of the most popular generations of the car. It does help that it's highly tunable, and also being a halo car, aftermarket tuning and accessory options are more than plentiful. Every major aftermarket company has something for the car, and you can even get official things from M Performance. Schnitzer is an approved aftermarket supplier for many BMW models, the stuff can be bought and used without affecting warranties, which is a massive bonus. AC Schnitzer has been fiddling with BMWs and more for 37 years now, and has established itself as one of the most respected tuning companies in Europe, with a worldwide footprint. Willi Kohl, an entrepreneur and motorsport enthusiast, and Herbert Schnitzer, an engineer with a background in motorsports joined forces to create AC Schnitzer originally a subsidiary of Schnitzer Motorsport that had a great track record in touring cars, but they saw the need for toned-down accessories for streetcars. Starting in the late 80s, it makes sense that the BMW E30 3 Series was one of the first platforms that AC Schnitzer extensively modified - the AC Schnitzer E30 featured upgraded engine performance, suspension upgrades, and unique styling elements, setting a precedent for future projects. This was when the company started creating custom parts that not only improved performance but also allowed customers to personalise their vehicles and use their preferred workshop or body shop to fit the goodies - usually keeping the warranty intact - which is a big deal.

The majority of the AC Schnitzer options for the current G80 M3 and G81 M3 Touring are the same, which makes sense and the platform and the car are mostly the same, only a few parts needed to be further tailored to fit the G81 wagon. This additional power and performance can be felt in the M3 by AC Schnitzer, in every driving situation. That goes for on the race track as well as on the daily commute. The AC Schnitzer options for the G80/81 are quite plentiful, available options include engine mods and updates. Exhausts, suspension options, wheel & tyre combos, wheel spacer kits, aerodynamic upgrades and a host of interior trim options. Check out the images to see a few of the wheel choices, we’re a fan of the black ones in that almost signature AC Schnitzer style. We’ve seen the same design on an AC Schnitzer-fettled BMW M Coupe from a few years back, so it’s a nostalgic thing for us. The options available to change up the exterior looks are just brilliant and as is expected from the House of Schnitzer, the fit, finish and quality are as good as it gets. Those who don’t like to stand out as much may want to have the exposed carbon painted to match the car’s body colour, but 99.9 % of the people we know wouldn’t do the paint thing. Because Carbon Fibre. On the power front, the Stage II upgrade from the showroom 390 kW (530 hp) to an even more fun 455 kW (610 hp). While it’s a decent bump, it’s far from the car’s full potential and that means the power bump is super reliable. That explains the warranty. There’s no pricing on the components, but you just know it’s not gonna be the same as what you can get from Faizel at the flea market.
