In the world of Formula One, image is everything and one of the world’s most recognisable brands is Ferrari. Ferrari branding is found the world over, the prancing horse emblem can even be found on t-shirts worn by small tribes in remote rainforests. You can visit a hard-to-reach remote town in a country where no one speaks a language you can understand and if you’re wearing any Ferrari merchandise it wouldn’t be surprising to have a local point and say “Ferrari” with an associated thumbs-up. There aren’t many brands with such a large global reach. This is down to the Italian automaker’s Formula 1 exploits which is the most-watched sporting event on the planet. So with that in mind, the company puts massive effort into the livery for the racecars and more often than not, the team has the best-looking car on the grid. Of course, this is subjective, and even if 9 out of 10 people agree that it takes the win in the looks department you’ll not hear it coming from the mouth of a Verstappen fan. Thanks to the Netflix series Drive to Survive, there has been a renewed interest in the sport, and that means the Ferrari F1 car for the 2023 season needed to be something with a bit of a wow factor, and we reckon they nailed it. Red and black is always a winning colour combination and luckily for Ferrari, they sort of have the unofficial rights to the colours because if you think of F1 and Ferrari, you think of red.

The pair of SF-23 cars will once again be piloted by the team of Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz, and while the looks of the car don’t play into the ability to win or lose, the team hopes to properly challenge for the title. Oddly, even though the team has one of the biggest followings in the sport, Scuderia Ferrari last won a driver’s title with Kimi Raikkonen in 2007 and the constructors’ championship in 2008, but at least they looked good doing it.  New Scuderia Ferrari Team Principal Frederic Vasseur comments: “Now it will be a new journey for the project because the car will move to the race team. It’s a great feeling; when you are back on track, it’s like when you are back at school. I can feel that everybody is very proud of the job done and this feeling is very important for the motivation of everybody and for the season. It will be a quite long season, but the motivation is there and it’s crucial in terms of performance.”
