LIMITED NUMBER GREY EDITION T-ROC R CABRIO ARRIVES, AND WE LIKE!

The current range from Volkswagen features some very cool models, one we like a lot is the T-Roc, especially since we’ve been able to follow the progress of a local transformation of one over at VAG Cafe. With the Mk8 R being so scarce in SA, owners who had their eye on one are exploring their options when they want to stay within the brand are looking at R-Line T-Rocs. Maybe the “stock allocation issues” with the 8R don’t exist and it’s being done to help bump the sales of the SUV instead? Conspiracies aside, it’s a damn good-looking SUV and the tasteful changes from VAG Cafe take it to the next level. Well it seems that Volkswagen also knows that people want something a little different and so they’ve just released a new limited number Grey Edition on the cabriolet version of the SUV, and it looks pretty damn good. The changes are minimal, but enough to make the SUV stand out from the rest.

This Volkswagen T-Roc Cabriolet Grey Edition has been limited to a total of 999 vehicles, and the main selling point and first thing you see is that very cool matt grey colour that’s used by painting the car in Iridium Grey covered with a matt clearcoat, and so it’s actual paint and not a vinyl wrap. The changes aren’t limited to the visuals though, there are some tasty gloss black interior and exterior accents, changes to the driver assist programs and the addition of some high-quality equipment. The base is the sporty R-Line specification that includes sports running gear and progressive steering as well as the Black Style design package with black trim strips and mirror covers and a black rear spoiler. The door handles and T-Roc lettering on the rear are also in Deep Black. The Grange Hill wheels are 18-inches in size and are also painted black. The tech changes are to the Discover Media navigation system (including Streaming and Internet), an IQ.DRIVE driver assist package, including the semi-automated driving assistance Travel Assist, the lane keeping system Lane Assist and the lane change system Side Assist and also the IQ. LIGHT LED matrix headlights, including advanced main-beam control Dynamic Light Assist. The Winter Package is also included in the special edition and so the car also has a heated steering wheel. Sadly we don’t think any of these will make it to SA because we don’t even get the regular model. Still cool to dream though.

Take a look at the YouTube video that showcases the regular Volkswagen T-Roc R-Line cabrioletSure it's not the awesome limited number unit that's just been released, but it'll still give you a good idea of just how cool this limited number droptop is: 2022 VW T-Roc Cabrio R Line (150hp) - Sound & Visual Review! | Visual Car Reviews
