THE 2024 MUSTANG RTR SPEC 2 IS THE PONY CAR WE DESERVE!

With the Ford Mustang being the world’s most popular sportscar, it makes sense that you’ll find a plethora of aftermarket tuning companies dedicated to making them more powerful, faster and visually appealing. A few companies are very well established, one such outfit is RTR Vehicles. The latest package from pro drifter and certified Mustang fanatic Vaugh Gitten Jr’s own tuning company is dedicated to the new 7th generation Mustang, and we like it, a lot. The latest offerings feature an aggressive design and aesthetic enhancements to convey a theme of ‘Movement Through Space’. This RTR Spec 2 package starts off with an all-new evolution of the signature RTR grille with integrated lighting that creates multi-dimensional illuminated intake scoops for cool air feed to the engine. Also for air feed is the added hood vent setup. The aero is optimised with front, side and rear splitters and a rear duckbill spoiler. The front lower and side grilles tie the changes together while working to increase the positive effects of the front splitter. “We treated the OEM sheet metal from Ford as drapery, with the RTR components pushing themselves outward through the Mustang’s volumes and inviting you into the experience,” explains Lindsay Ross, RTR Vehicles Lead Designer and Creative Director.

For the exterior, this new package includes the upper grille with signature lighting, lower grille, corner grille, chin splitter, under-tray extension, hood vent, rocker splitters, rear quarter splitters, boot spoiler, and RTR badging for the grille, fender, and boot lid. The next part changed aids both aesthetics and handling, thanks to a full suspension kit the Mustang sits lower and has improved chuckability in the twisties. The kit includes a rear shock mount kit, Tactical Performance lowering springs, Tactical Performance adjustable front and rear sway bars and lastly, Tactical Performance adjustable shocks and struts. To add to the improved visuals, there’s a set of some super hot RTR Aero 5 wheels in a size of 20 inches, wrapped in some performance Nitto NT555 G2 tyres. An RTR graphics package ends things off. Inside the car, changes are minimal, we find an RTR Performance shift knob and some RTR floor mats. The most important thing is the serialised dash plaque engraved with Vaughn Gittin Jr.’s signature that comes with a certificate of authenticity. The 2024 Mustang RTR Spec 2 will be available starting at $12,495 (over and above the base vehicle price), and if you ask nicely then you can have the kit retrofitted if you already own a new-gen Mustang.

Take a look at the YouTube video showing off what has to be one of the coolest specced new-generation Ford Mustangs to date. We love it when Mustangs get the RTR treatment, boss man Vaughn Gitten Jr seems to know exactly what sportscar buyers want different from showroom models and makes it happen. The RTR treatment sees changes in the aesthetics and power stakes, check it out: Introducing the 2024 Mustang RTR Spec 2 | RTR Vehicles
