EVER WONDERED WHERE AND HOW PAGANI HYPERCARS ARE MADE? WONDER NO MORE WITH THIS EPIC FACTORY TOUR.

Pagani Automobiles, an Italian hypercar manufacturer, was founded by Horacio Pagani in 1992. Originally from Argentina, Pagani developed a passion for design and engineering early in life. Inspired by the works of Leonardo da Vinci, he envisioned a perfect marriage of art and science in automotive design. His relentless pursuit of excellence eventually led him to Italy, where he worked as a composite materials specialist under the legendary Lamborghini. Horacio's big break came when he spearheaded the development of the Lamborghini Countach Evoluzione, one of the first cars to use advanced carbon fibre technology extensively. In 1988, after some frustration when Lamborghini wouldn’t use his forward-thinking ideas, he started up his own company, Pagani Composite Research, which would give him free rein to create without hindrance. A few years later he founded Pagani Automobili Modena in 1992, and under that name, Pagani was able to create some of the world’s most amazing hypercars. In 1999 the Zonda C12 was released to worldwide praise. Its aerospace-inspired design and meticulous craftsmanship made it a masterpiece, and being powered by a 6.0-litre V12 from Mercedes-Benz, it was as fast as it looked. This car was named after the Zonda wind, a hot air current in Argentina. The follow-up car in 2011 was also named after a wing, well the Andean god of wind, Huayra Tata. The Pagani Huayra was even more extreme than the Zonda and as expected, was a carbon-fibre beauty inside and out. This time the Mercedes-AMG powerplant was a twin-turbocharged V12, and it afforded the Huayra mind-blowing performance. The interior alone took over 1,000 hours to design. Even the bolts holding its components together are titanium, laser-etched with the Pagani logo, and cost just shy of R2,000 a piece. The latest from Pagani is the Utopia, but there are variations of the other models in the lineup.

Horacio Pagani pioneered the use of carbon fibre in automotive applications and even developed his very own material, Carbo-Titanium. This new material is a blend of carbon fibre and titanium for unmatched strength and lightweight performance. This material is used across Pagani's lineup and remains a hallmark of their cars. Pagani Automobiles operates with a singular philosophy: creating cars that are equal parts engineering marvel and work of art. Each vehicle is a handcrafted masterpiece, with production numbers intentionally kept low to maintain exclusivity, there are less than 500 Panagi cars in total. Every Pagani comes with a bespoke key modelled after the car itself, which doubles as a USB drive, and yes, it also costs more than a flat in Durban. Pagani cars are amongst the most expensive cars in the world today. A report last year lists the Pagani Zonda HP Barchetta at $17.6 million, the Pagani Huayra Codalunga at $7.4 million, the Pagani Huayra at $1.4 million, and the Pagani Utopia at $2.5 million. If you could afford one of each, your income is likely higher than the gross national product of small countries. As you’d expect with an automaker of this calibre, the place where these cars and their components are manufactured will be world-class. Not many people will have the ability to visit these places, never mind get and tour the place. Especially not with a camera in hand. Luckily the chaps from Automotive Press managed to secure a visit, and so we now get to see all the things that happen in the factory in this awesome video that’s just shy of 40 minutes long.

Take a look at the YouTube video that gives you access to the place where some of the most amazing cars on the planet are built - Pagani Automobili. The factory is amazing, and it's everything we thought it would be. There's so much cool stuff to see that it makes sense this vid is almost 40 minutes long - we'd spend hours and hours there if we were allowed: ENGINEER TOURS PAGANI FACTORY IN ITALY // WORLD'S MOST ADMIRED SUPER CAR // 100% HAND BUILT | AutomotivePress
